Scholarships Help Students Realise their Career Dreams
Available to Year 11 and 12 students, the scholarship zeroes in on those who show ambition and dedication regardless of their station in life, with key selection criteria including: the need for financial assistance; commitment to continue on into full time university study; keen interest to own their own business; willingness to take on 10 hours of work placement during their course; and is studying or has studied business units at school.
The first of the four to begin establishing a strong future is Varsity College student, Jason Salway. Jason was chosen due to his commitment and love for business and also his outstanding work achievements outside of school.
Jason is taking his new understanding and applying it to his job and has major goals in sight. Jason said “The Diploma of Business interests me because it offers me such a huge world of opportunity. I am currently working at Dicksmith and in the not too distant future I intend to become a manager. This Diploma in Business will help me get there. It will provide the essential management skills to run a store, from hiring staff to managing a project. I am also interested in the Diploma because it’s a great way to get industry recognised qualifications before I even leave school”
