March 2011 | Careers Australia recently secured 160 training places under the Commonwealth Government funded Productivity Places Program. The places are available to job seekers in a number of areas:
- Certificate II in Automotive Vehicle Servicing
- Certificate II in Engineering
- Certificate III in Business Administration
- Certificate III in Steel Fixing
The program targeted by this program are Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island persons, mature age people, people with a disability, young people, new migrants and retrenched workers.
First program commenced on 7 February with a second intake scheduled for 9 April.

“I wanted to have a career change; I liked the class schedule, which is 2 ½ days a week. That meant I could spend time with my family and have a job for the rest of the week. I also like the environment for learning, being that it was an easier transition from being a mother to an adult student.”
“The Diploma of Business helped me gain the knowledge I needed to achieve my personal best and to be successful. I gained acceptance into the University of my choice thanks to Careers Australia.”
