Careers Australia offers a number of school programs tailored to suit high schools and high school students.
Try a Trade
Careers Australia runs regular pre-vocational training programs in Construction and Engineering where students are given the opportunity to try a trade. This gives them real practical experience and a chance to get a taste for the industry and decide whether they want to continue into an apprenticeship or explore different pathways into further education.
School Based Apprenticeships
An Australian School based Apprenticeship enables high school students to gain vocational and technical qualification whilst completing their high school studies. School based apprentices and trainees will have the opportunity to gain real experience in the workplace one day a week and attend school the remaining four days of the week. They will also... and receiving training from a Registered Training Organisation on the job or in blocks during their holidays. Careers Australia runs their school programs in a way that is as non-disruptive to a student’s learning as possible, whilst at the same time, providing students with invaluable skills and knowledge relevant to the workplace.
