CHC30212 Certificate III in Aged Care

Area of Study
Health and Community Services
Course Description
The Certificate III in Aged Care will equip you with the skills and knowledge to gain employment within the Aged Care environment, such as residential facilities or community services where you will work under the supervision of nurses or other health professionals. These skills include providing personal care, assistance with daily routines and activities related to the residents’ individualised care plans, reporting and recording information to direct supervisors, respecting residents’ rights,
dignity and privacy and communicating effectively with staff, residents and family.

The Certificate III in Aged Care is also a great pathway into the Diploma of Nursing which could see you recognised as an Enrolled Nurse.

Career Opportunities
This course is one of the most popular pathways into a healthcare career. After 10 weeks of learning and work experience, you will be ready to seek employment in one of the most in-demand industries in Australia and around the world. Entry level roles include:

- Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
- Assistant in Nursing (AIN)
- Personal Care Worker
- Home Care Assistant

RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), also commonly referred to as Skills Assessment, offers you a simple and cost effective way to gain recognition for all the work related skills and knowledge that you have achieved.

Accreditation
This program is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Austudy approved.

Articulation
This course is also a very popular entry into the Diploma of Nursing if you haven't worked in the healthcare sector or completed high school.

Many of our Aged Care graduates continue their studies at Careers Australia to become an Enrolled Nurse. Nursing students that take this pathway are even able use this qualification to work in the healthcare sector while they complete their Nursing studies.
